Tech Tool Roundup

Here are a few other resources that you may want to explore.

Creation Tools

  • PowToons: create animated videos and presentations—and it's free!
  • Avatar Generator: choose an image, crop, size, add a border, and even include a "name" label. This is a free tool that is simple to use.
  • JeopardyLabs: build a Jeopardy-like tool
  • EDpuzzle: crop videos, add audio, embed quizzes
  • Animoto: create awesome videos

Collaboration Tools

  • Google Drive allows you to collaboratively create documents

Repository Tools

  • YouTube not only contains scores of videos that you can link to but is a great repository for you to store your videos; mark them as private so that they aren't available to the entire Internet community.

Organization and Efficiency Tools

  • Evernote is one of my all time favorites; create and tag notes, organize notes in folders, share notes with others, even deliver presentation slides all directly from the Evernote environment. Evernote is available to you on your desktop, laptop, tablet, and smart phone—and they synchronize so you are never without the most current version.

This is not an exhaustive listing by any means, but does give you an idea of the versatility of tools and resources that are available to you. It gives you an idea of some of the tools that an experienced designer uses. Now go explore and find your own favorites!
