Welcome to "Changing Lanes: Moving Your Traditional Class Online." Maybe you have been teaching in a physical classroom for a long time and feel that your course flows just the way you want it. Your students are learning the content; test scores are well above average; you receive high marks on your end-of-course evaluations regarding the flow of the course and student satisfaction. Perhaps you’ve even dipped your educational toes into the online pool by posting your syllabus or linking to some websites. Now, though you’ve been asked, or told, or want, to jump into the waters and create a fully online course.

Obviously you don’t want to give up everything that has been working well, and you’ve heard others speak of how awesome courses can be online. But still, you have reservations. You’ve read some poor student evaluations and heard hallway chatter among students about how boring online coursese are—"page turners," you've heard them called. You certainly don’t want to fall into THAT category, so what’s a conscientious educator supposed to do?

You’ve come to the right place! I’m Sally and I will be your personal instructional designer for the next 30 days. We’ll meet on a regular basis and explore opportunities and options. I can’t build your course for you, but by the time we finish our consultations, you will have lots of suggestions and recommendations in your online arsenal, know how to find awesome resources, and have had some light shed on issues that may have been of concern to you. Welcome to the pool!
